The ISSA Boat Master Course is aimed at candidates that have crewed on a small boat but have a very elementary understanding of sailing or powerboat handling. The aim of the ISSA Boat Master course is to increase the candidates’ nautical knowledge to competently take on the duties of a beginner Boat Master on a yacht, during the day on lakes and inland waters and up to 15 NM from shelter in fair weather, and moderate sea conditions. The Cevni Regulations must also be learned and the VHF Radio course as pre-requisites. Yacht Training in Asia requires basic training for powerboats and sailing boats and this course gives beginners a useful start before progressing to Zero to Hero certification courses.
