Course Summary

The ISSA Inshore Skipper Course is a comprehensive 10-day programme designed for sailors with previous experience who are ready to take command of a yacht. You’ll develop the practical skills, navigation knowledge and confidence needed to skipper safely in coastal waters.

During the course you’ll build your knowledge of navigation, pilotage, meteorology, passage planning, yacht handling, marina manoeuvres, anchoring and crew management. Classroom theory is reinforced with extensive practical training on the water, helping you apply your new skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

On successful completion, you’ll receive the internationally recognised ISSA Inshore Skipper Certificate and be well prepared to continue your training on the ISSA Offshore Skipper Course.

There is a  handbook that is available to students for elements to this course.  These can be purchased at the shop individually or in the near future as a compendium edition.
