Course Summary

The ISSA Master of Yachts – Motor Yacht Course is an intensive ten-day programme for highly experienced motor-yacht skippers progressing beyond Offshore Skipper level and preparing for assessment at Master of Yachts level.

Throughout the course you’ll refine advanced navigation, passage planning, motor-yacht handling, seamanship and command skills while developing the judgement and leadership required to manage a motor yacht safely and effectively on extended passages.

The programme combines advanced theory with practical training and assessment, culminating in written, oral and practical examinations. Successful candidates who achieve the required standard are awarded the ISSA Master of Yachts qualification.

 

 

Candidates are strongly encouraged to prepare well in advance of the course. Master of Yachts requires substantial existing knowledge and practical experience, and advance study of the ISSA course material will help you prepare for the intensive training and assessment.

The official ISSA Master of Yachts Handbook is available separately through our online shop and provides valuable reference material before and after your training.
