Course Overview

Our Learn to Sail Course is designed for complete beginners who want to move beyond a simple introduction and begin developing genuine sailing skills.

Over two enjoyable days you'll spend almost all of your time on the water learning how to safely handle a modern sailing yacht. From steering and sail trimming to understanding the wind and leaving a mooring, every exercise has been designed to build your confidence step by step.

Unlike many sailing courses that spend long periods in the classroom, our training is approximately 95% practical. We believe the best way to learn sailing is by sailing, giving you more time at the helm and more opportunities to practise every new skill.

By the end of the course you'll understand the basic principles of sailing, feel comfortable handling a yacht under supervision and be ready to continue your sailing journey with more advanced courses and internationally recognised ISSA qualifications.

Whether you're beginning your sailing journey, developing practical skills or preparing to progress towards internationally recognised ISSA qualifications, the Learn to Sail Course provides the ideal foundation for your future adventures on the water.

Yes. Every student spends plenty of time at the helm under the supervision of an instructor.

Comfortable clothing suitable for warm weather, non-marking deck shoes or trainers, sunglasses, a hat and sun protection.

You'll learn the basic principles of recovering someone safely using the yacht's engine in a controlled training environment.

Most students continue to our Zero to Hero programme or begin working towards internationally recognised ISSA qualifications.
